Many people asked me how to make good, quality contents for their websites. Still remember the old yet classic SEO technique ? You're right, content is the King (Read more : Lessons from SEO Champions : Anil Dash - “Real Content Takes All .. “)
Since Anil Dash, 2004 SEO Champion and many SEO Gurus have proven above method, so we just state it as 'taken for granted'. No doubt on that.
Why Content is so important ? Simple, content drives web traffic, and quality contents will drive quality traffic. I don't have to tell you that your web site traffic means money, do I ? :)
Let's start.
#1 – Look What's Around You !
Have you read my
Fun Stuff articles ? Posting “NgaduTrafik 2007 & Hand Gloves”
was inspired by a column in local newspaper, and I found it very
interesting. So, I just put my mind around it, and adapted my writing
style to the article.
#2 – Be Creative !
If you can't find
any inspirations that are able to drive your writing process, try to
look an interesting article, and write it with your own words. You migh
think “Hey, I have key combinations here : Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V”.
Don't
ever think about copy paste another content for your website, as Google
and other search engine will penalize it, or lower your rankings. RSS ?
It's different thing, as RSS will always link back to original sources.

#3 – Find Your Writing Style
As
you are able to write everything with your own style and wordings,
you'll somehow find your writing style. Remember when you read a
paragprah from Shakespeare or Sidney Sheldon ? You can easily find how
world class and good writers develop their styles, and you, will also
do the same.
#4 – Read More,.. More and More !
How can you
write something if you don't have words, and how can you have words in
your mind if you don't read anything ? Read articles sources that
interesting for your : news, stories, analysis, books, whatever.
Internet has just make our life easier to find good sources.
#5 – Make Some Errors ? Do More..Don't Get Afraid !
My grammar is lousy.. I can't even understand what I've written .. I can't write in plain English ..
That's
what I've heard from many friends. One advice for you : just write it
down. Read again, and modify. Re-read and re-modify. You'll get better
word by word, day by day.
If English is not your mother language
(as what I am, and all NgaduTrafik 2007 contestants), then start
improving it! Get a course, workshop, whatever! Sorry to say that
English is International language, and it's the language of Internet.
So try to master it with any efforts.
It's simple, isn't it, so
don't make it complicated. As you look to the traffic in the road,
friends in office, people chatting around, or just visit another
NgaduTrafik 2007 websites, you should aware on how much you can write.
The resources is unlimited.
