OK, now let's see what the other side is doing. There's a song I know (Phil Collins, I think) title “Both sides of Stories”, so let's get to know what the black hat is.
First, why it's named “black hat”, not “bad guy” or sort of ?
Remember the old movies (God Father, etc) ? The bad guys always use the black hat as its symbol, so that's where the idiom black hat taken. Yup, you're right... The black hat referred to black or bad techniques in order to get top ranking position in Google. Is NgaduTrafik 2007 black hat ? No, of course. But I do have a black cap, not hat.
Let's summarize NgaduTrafik 2007 showcase for a moment.
What I have presented you so far in this website, are all the white
techniques, or the good one. The only thing that is negative for that
is : you need to focus, and allocate more time to get your website
good. Otherwise, you'll be beaten by your competitors.
To date, I have present you with the following articles in white hat techniques :
-
Site Optimization (Title, Keywords tags, H1, H2, Footer)

Now, let's get to Black Hat techniques. Here they are :
Cloaking Page
This technique presents contents to the search engine spider different
to what website gives to users. It can be done by delivering content
based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user
requesting the page.
How come?
If the website detected that incoming visitor is a robot/web spider, a
server-side script delivers a different version of the web page which
has been stuffed and optimise for targeted keywords.
A simple PHP code below can track Googlebot and delivers it to another page full of keywords stuffing :
<?php
$MyUserAgent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
if ($MyUserAgent==”Googlebot”)
header( 'Location: http://www.pageforyoumylovelybot.com/botseethis.html' );
?>
Keyword and Content Stuffing
Ever seen a webpage that loaded with keywords (repeating phrase or
multi phrases) all over the page, or in the keywords meta tags ?
In terms of SEO, this is an unethical search engine optimization (SEO)
technique. That's why I put it in the black hat categories :).
Sample :
In META tags :
in Image ALT tags :
Crazy, eh ?
That's why now most of search engine (Google, Yahoo) now ignore the keyword tags in meta tags.
Link Farming
Of course it's not a corn farm. The link page does not linked to
relevant websites (e.g. : websites about SEO doing reciprocal links
with websites selling porn videos). This technique basically uses
automated software.
Hidden Text
This considered as one of the oldest black hat techiques. The website
contains text for targeted keywords, but hide it from visitors using
colors similar with the background (so, our eyes can't see that unless
you do a Ctrl+A to that page)
Matt Cutts, Google engineer, found some interesting hidden text samples.
Check it here : http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-mistakes-nearly-hidden-text/
Ok, that's all the first 4 the black hat methods I want you to learn.
Nowadays, more and more blackhat users become smarter and change their
techniques to cheat with search engine.
I'll talk about this on another article for this NgaduTrafik 2007 website. Stay tune !
Keep in mind : Don't...and NEVER do it.
