Ok, so you have set your website running smoothly, and fill it up with some contents to serve your visitors. What next then ? Yes, you're right, you need to put up more and more contents to make your website look nice and visitors get valuable information they are searching. At least, that's what Google is for, isn't it ? The problems are : it's difficult to write some good contents, and most of us are lazy.
For me, I think I have exactly the same problems with you. I don't have
much time to write (well, I do have some writing skills), but time
isn't on my side. And I am just a damn lazy guy, so how can I
make this NgaduTrafik 2007 website look dynamic and fill with contents
? That's what RSS and other dynamic content syndication (e.g Atom,
OPML, etc) came for.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) was developed by Netscape in 1999 and
now it's very popular technology to getting updates from particular
websites. It is written in XML format. Needless to say, by using RSS
you can 'grab' other websites content (mostly news website that you
know always update their contents frequently), and put that in your
website. By doing this, your website will 'look' very dynamic : when
the RSS reader you put is getting update, then your content will be
update also. Cool, isn't it ?
Brad Callen, SEO Expert and Master, says that RSS is very legit in the
terms of search engine optimization. Why ? Because that's exactly what
the search engine spider love to see : a dynamic website. It's much
better than you copy-modify-paste some good contents from other website
to yours. All search engine portals provide RSS in their website,
including our beloved Google. See the RSS icon or links when you're searching for particular news ? That's what I mean.

All you need is a RSS reader to put to
your website.
Other dynamic content tools you can provide to your website including banner exchange, ads/content rotator and sort of.
So, for NgaduTrafik 2007, as I use Joomla as the CMS, it's better for a
lazy person like me to get some cool techniques to give this website
pretty look. Here's what I did :
-
For RSS plugin I use AJAX RSS Reader, and for dynamic content rotator I am just using default Joomla newsflash plugin.
-
Burn some of my interesting feeds on Feedburner or Googlefeed
-
Rotate the banner for Supporter website category content
You can see (indeed, you're viewing this NgaduTrafik 2007 website) the
changes and addition I've put in this website. Looks very dynamic,
isn't it ? Now I got to rest and playing volleyball with my kid, Kevin
for the weekend.
